Best answer:
Answer by MandyDo you have irregular periods?
If so, have you been to the doctor about this?
I went off the contraceptive pill 6 months ago and my periods have been irregular since (I’ve actually only had one in the last 5 months!).
I went to the doctor and she did blood tests and I found out that I have PCOS (polycysic ovarian syndrome) – which is the most common cause of female infertility. Its symptoms include irregular periods plus many other symptoms such as acne, increased hair growth, weight gain (though I just have the irregular periods as my symptom).
PCOS is a hormonal problem and causes infertility because your ovaries don’t release egg each . . . → Read More: supplements for fertility?

Question by Laura : Does being deficient in vitamins affect fertility in women?
I’m a bit worried I can’t have kids,,,I’ve been anemic in the past and I don’t really have a balanced diet so I’m probably low in some vitamins and minerals. I was just wondering does this play a major part in a womans fertility and if so would eating a balanced diet and taking vitamin suplements help or is the damage already done if you’re infertile due to this as I’ve been TTC for 4 months and no luck so far….?
Best answer:
Answer by DoodlestuffVitamin deficiency doesn’t play a major role in infertility, but does have a part for some women. Try improving your diet especially taking folic acid.

Question by Marie: How hard can I exercise without affecting my fertility?
I’ve been doing 30-min weight-training sessions with a personal trainer 3x/wk to tone/sculpt, usually followed by 20 min of jogging on the treadmill. I push myself hard, and my muscles are always sore the next day.
I’ve been doing this for almost 2 mos and I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in. My diet has improved (lower fat and refined carbs); I haven’t really lost weight, but my clothes fit better. So far, my period is still regular.
Do you think this routine decreases my fertility?
Best answer:
Answer by Barbara CNo, the more fit you are, the healthier weight and body fat index you have the better chance you have of concieving and also of having a healthy pregnancy and baby, it is the women who either starve themselves skinny or use enhancment drugs to become super buff that have problems conceiving.

Question by kbw205: Does anyone know the possible side effects of bodybuilding supplements on female fertility?
Does anyone know the possible side effects of bodybuilding supplements on female fertility?
More specifically, N.O. Explode. It is a nitric oxide supplement. My husband and I are trying to conceive but we are not having much luck due to the lack of ovulation on my part. I have been taking bodybuilding supplements for about two years now (N.O. Explode, Jacked, Creatine, etc). I am wondering if these have anything to do with my lack of ovulation and menses. Please help.
Best answer:
Answer by TarkarriIf you are that involved in body building you probably have a very low percentage of body fat. This can interfere with a woman’s fertility.
Creatine has been found to cause fetal abnormalities in animals, not recommended if you are trying to get pregnant.
I would talk to your Dr about this.

Shopping for Fertility?
Article by George Undermeyer
A large number of couples today normally hang on for some years before they choose to have a baby, for reasons like their nascent careers and hoping to relish their own lives just before they ‘settle down’ into child caring. With factors like polluting of the environment increasing, life-style changes with an greater consumption of alcohol, late nights, smoking cigarettes and tension, frantic professions and almost no time for everything else, fertility rates however, are going down, and the bio clock ticking away is not going to help. Fertility medications, hormone enhancers, IVF treatments are what you need, declare fertility clinics.
The resultant stress doesn’t help. The wait can be long and terrifying, lowering the infertile man or woman’s self esteem, sex drive, body image and severely straining a couple’s relationship. The success rate of clinical infertility treatment is about 20% on an average, although this could be related to treating a high number of older . . . → Read More: Shopping for Fertility?
