Is it me or my husband having the infertility problem?

Question by Luisa: Is it me or my husband having the infertility problem?
June 11, 2011 was the day I conceived my first child. July 22, 2011, I had to terminate the pregnancy due to some underlying issues… It was after the termination that my husband and I realized how much that had impact our life, we were torn. Every since, he and I have had sex on the regular with NO FORM of birth control what so ever, and I have yet to get pregnant. I have been having irregular periods since then as well.

My last period was January 4, 2012, and I have yet to get it as of February 6, 2012, could this be it?
I’ve been using ovulation calendars and having sex on all my fertile days.. Someone help. I would hate to get overly excited, especially since my period has been irregular since the abortion.

Why so much ignorance regarding HPV?

Question by : Why so much ignorance regarding HPV?
It really shocks me when I read posts on here that say, “I just had him tested and he is clean.” or “We always use a condom” or “He doesn’t have any symptoms of an STD.” etc. etc. because I can’t believe there is so much ignorance out there regarding HPV and how it’s transmitted. Didn’t the teenage posters here learn about HPV in sex education classes? Why haven’t your parents had a conversation with you about HPV and other STD’s? Maybe you will have to teach your parents what they should be teaching you about STD’s!

HPV consists of 100 viruses than can cause a woman infertility (not able to have children) and cancers. HPV can cause oral (mouth) and other cancers in men. Condoms don’t offer much protection because HPV is a sexually transmitted AND a skin to skin contact disease, the virus can be transmitted via . . . → Read More: Why so much ignorance regarding HPV?

HELP!!! Irregular Period & No Insurance?

Question by ChelseaD803: HELP!!! Irregular Period & No Insurance?
I need someone ANYONE to help me PLEASE!!! I am a 21 yr old female, who for as long as I can remember has always had an irregular period, in 2007 I had such a long period (lasted about 3 months) that my gynecologist put me on the nuvaring to regulate my cycle. The nuvaring was effective, and I actually would of stayed on it but I lost my job and the insurance that covered it. From 2007-2008 my cycle remained regular, until this year when all of a sudden it would come on for weeks at a time, it’s currently been on for the past few weeks, it’s very heavy with small clots, i’m very frustrated with this situation because my boyfriend and I have been trying to conceive for the past 10 months and have been unsuccessful due to obvious reasons. He has suggested that I go to the doctor even . . . → Read More: HELP!!! Irregular Period & No Insurance?

HOW COME THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY HAS NOT ACTED IN VALIDATING WINSTON KAYANAN’S CLAIMS ON THE ENVIRONMENT?

Question by : HOW COME THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY HAS NOT ACTED IN VALIDATING WINSTON KAYANAN’S CLAIMS ON THE ENVIRONMENT?
UN Sec. Gen. Ban Ki-moon is incredibly committed to push his predecessor’s anti-life Kyoto Protocol and possibly, its mandate in October 2009 and amendment thereof come December in Danish capital of Copenhagen. However, he does not seem to understand that the carbon emission reduction as what the organization has been espousing is only a hypothesis which does not guarantee the right solution to world’s environmental woes. And the 12 long years of delay to finalize Kyoto Protocol is a proof of hidden force from God in giving a strong reluctance, i.e., posing threat to world’s economic survival and hence, how can the highest organization achieve a better world when its philosophy in the environment requires the expense of global economy? There is no wisdom, spirit & power in this philosophy. The mission could not give a brighter vision in beholding the light of . . . → Read More: HOW COME THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY HAS NOT ACTED IN VALIDATING WINSTON KAYANAN’S CLAIMS ON THE ENVIRONMENT?

TTC #2 for 8 months with no luck…. unexplained infertility?

Question by sng: TTC #2 for 8 months with no luck…. unexplained infertility?
I have been able to fall pregnant very easily in the past. I had a 3 miscarriages, a stillborn and blessed with my DD. Now we’ve been TTC for #2 for 8 months and I don’t understand why it’s not happening for us when it happened so effortlessly in the past. I’m worried it’s because I’m now 35. Has anyone had something similar? Please don’t suggest “seeing my doctor”, that’s obvious, I’m just looking for personal experiences. Thank you!

What are the success rates of an IUI for somebody with unexplained infertility?

Question by Lea: What are the success rates of an IUI for somebody with unexplained infertility?
I have heard anything from 8% to 50%. I would love to find out the true statistic. My RE wants me to start IUI next month. I have done three months of Femara (monitored with trigger shot) and ovulated great but no BFP. I am 36 (37 next week) and diagnosed with unexplained fertility because all my tests have come back normal. Part of me wants to skip over IUI and go for IVF but I want to hear stastics first.
thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by TinaWhen going through fertility treatments (also diagnosed with unexplained infertility, I was 34 and DH was 35), my RE put the success rates at between 15 – 20%.

A lot of it depends on the number of follicles – medications like femara and clomid tend to cause 1 or 2 follicles to develop putting you at the lower end of the spectrum but if . . . → Read More: What are the success rates of an IUI for somebody with unexplained infertility?
