Why Women Should Know about Calculating Ovulation

Article by Zoul

When females reach their age when they experience their first menstruation, it is necessary for these women to find out more about their reproductive system. Mothers or older sisters must try to talk with the people that experience their first monthly period ever. What are early signs of infertility? Are extremely irregular periods anything to worry about?

Question by princesspink: What are early signs of infertility? Are extremely irregular periods anything to worry about?
I was on birth control for 5 years and stopped 6 months ago. My husband and I are ready for a baby. I tried one of those online ovulation calendars, but each month, my cycle gets longer and the length of my periods are usually about 10 to 14 days. My parents both had infertility problems and conceived me through in vitro fertilization, so I am worried that it could happen to me. I am only 24, and most of my friends my age have 3 or 4 kids. It seems that if other people my age can have babies so easily, I should be able to as well. I will not have health insurance for a couple more months, so seeing a doctor isn’t an option at this point.

Does the length of cycle mean anything about fertility?

Question by Ivy: Does the length of cycle mean anything about fertility?
My sister is going to surrogate for us and her cycle length is 24 days. Is this bad?
15 day LP.

Best answer:

Answer by Lucky LadyHow long is her luteal phase? A short luteal phase can make it difficult. It may not be long enough for the fertilized egg to implant into her uterine wall. Her luteal phase needs to be at least 10 days long. A normal luteal phase is 14 days. A woman’s LP can be anywhere from 10-16 days long, but it is always the same length every month. The LP is the days after ovulation till your period. Chances are she ovulates early in her cycle, and her LP is normal length. She may just have a shorter cycle, that’s all. Good luck to you all!!!

What Does Medical Research Say About Acupuncture and Infertility?

What Does Medical Research Say About Acupuncture and Infertility?

Acupuncture for infertility is probably the most popular and commonly recognized alternative treatment for those trying to get pregnant. The media seems to report on research related to acupuncture and fertility every few months, and more and more fertility clinics offer or recommend acupuncture services along with conventional fertility treatments like IVF and IUI.

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine, sometimes abbreviated as TCM. Acupuncture involves placing hair-thin needles into particular points on the body. These points, according to the Chinese tradition, run along lines of energy, or meridians. From the TCM perspective, the idea is that an imbalance of these energies in the body can lead to illness, including infertility. Correcting the imbalance by stimulating particular points along the meridians is thought to improve health.
