Infertility – Problem And Solution
Male Infertility
Approximately 15% of couples attempting their first pregnancy meet with failure. Most authorities define these patients as primarily infertile if they have been unable to achieve a pregnancy after one year of unprotected intercourse. Conception normally is achieved within twelve months in 80-85% of couples who use no contraceptive measures, and persons presenting after this time should therefore be regarded as possibly infertile and should be evaluated. Data available over the past twenty years reveal that in approximately 30% of cases pathology is found in the man alone, and in another 20% both the man and woman are abnormal. Therefore, the male factor is at least partly responsible in about 50% of infertile couples.
Important issues related to the evaluation of the male factor include the most appropriate time for the male evaluation, the most efficient format for a comprehensive male exam, and definition of rationale and effective medical and surgical regimens in the treatment of . . . → Read More: Infertility – Problem And Solution

Question by reshma k: our doctor prescribed proviron for my husband’s infertility problem. how effective is this medication?
we have been trying to get pregnant for 6 years. after visiting the doctor on many occasions he prescribed this medication.
Best answer:
Answer by Stardust FairyI have never heard of this drug. However from what I read it is affects his hormones. My DH is now taking Arimidex. It lowers his estrogen and is known for increasing his sperm count. The amount that it went up was a few million and it was at zero. It is still now enough for me to get PG on our own so we are going to do IVF but at least we have enough for that.

Question by Sandra B: could I be have a problem of Infertility?
Me and my husband have been together for 3 years and have never used protection just recently we have started trying. I was wondering if there is a chance I am not able to get pregnant because of the years that we were not trying and didn’t just “”opps, im pregnant”
we have been trying for about 3 months.
Best answer:
Answer by TinaIf you were not using any protection and not even using withdrawal or the calendar method where you try to avoid ovulation . . . then it is possible but don’t assume that it is you as many infertilty issues are with the man. IF there is an issue, it could be with either of you.
I would recommend that you both go to the doctor, let them know that you are ttc and explain your concerns. Most fertility issues are treatable.
Good luck and baby dust!
